At the recent Philadelphia Marathon, 2 runners collapsed and died at or near the finish.
The finish is actually a fairly common place for marathon deaths to happen.
I came across this article from Dr. Lewis Maharam (“The Running Doc”) where he laid out some reasons why that may happen, and a few steps that could prevent it.
